There is always a lot of talk at the beginning of the new year about eating healthier, avoiding sweets, working out more. While I do strive to eat better in 2013, it goes beyond the well meaning but destined for failure type of resolution of not to have dessert. In 2013 I want to make better choices when it comes to my food, not deny my body a well earned meal or snack.
Go Max Go offers candy bars that remind you of classic favorites, except for one thing. The taste. I thought they tasted… Pure, Good, Improved over the standard brands.
So, what makes Go Max Go candy bars different from these well known classic brands? All of the bars contain only non GM ingredients and 4 of the flavors are gluten free (Mahalo, Cleo’s Cups, Snap! and the Thumbs Up). The bars are made with rice milk chocolate and fine ingredients to form a fantastic flavor that is superior to what you would get with the mass marketed bars we all know too well.
My son and I were eager to try out Cleo’s Peanut Butter Cups. I was not disappointed when he didn’t take to the texture. He is 2 and his exposure to candy is very limited, so don’t take this as any indication of the flavor. I know isn’t that horrible? I did a happy dance because I didn’t have to share my candy with my son.
I liked Twilight as a second runner up. It was soft, gooey, delicious and didn’t even qualify as being in the same category as the well known version of this treat.
I was honored to get a sneak peak at the Thumbs Up Bar. It was amazing. Like a giant Chick O Stick drizzled in chocolate. It was fresh, sweet and crumbly, which appealed to me. I have steered away from the well known butterfinger bar due to the center being as hard as a rock. Thumbs Up is aptly named and super yummy.
My husband was happy to share the Thumbs Up and Twilight bars with me. I really liked them, I love Non GM foods and I feel good about eating vegan friendly foods whenever I can. He chewed, swallowed and shrugged. I guess that means that he liked them, I honestly don’t think he noticed they were not the average candy bar.
Check out the Go Max Go line of candy bars, they will satisfy your cravings for candy if you are either vegan, on a gluten free diet or just looking for a better alternative to the average snack.
